Children’s Mental Health Week

Join us for Children’s Mental Health Week 2024 to help give a voice to children and young people across the UK. Mental health illnesses are very common amongst children with an epilepsy and amongst the rest of their family.

This year the official Children’s Mental Health Week will take place from 5-11 February 2024 and the theme is ‘My Voice Matters’.

Children with an epilepsy commonly have mental health challenges as part of it. These can have an awful an impact on their quality of life as the seizures. The mental health challenges can be related to any genetic aspect of an epilepsy, to the medications, to stigma, to exclusion, to lack of support, and many more things. However, through identifying these challenges we can improve the lives of children affected.

The week exists to empower, equip and give a voice to every child in the UK. No child or young person has to face a mental health problem alone.

Each year, the Place2Be team creates free resources for primary schools, secondary and high schools so that children of any age can take part in the week. We also have free resources for families, parents and carers so you can take part at home.
