Neurosense: SUDEP Prediction & Prevention

NEUROSENSE
Workshop 2 – Accelerate Insights into Action

Following the 1st NEUROSENSE Project workshop, “Down to Earth Feedback” , this workshop, “Accelerate Insights into Action,” aims to gather input from people with epilepsy (PWE) and their caregivers regarding the design of the medical device prototype. The models to be presented are based on feedback from the first workshop. This second iteration with end-users will update the list of user requirements, guiding further development of the SUDEP Predictive Medical Device (SMD) prototype. These findings will help ensure the SMD is tailored to users' needs and will inform ongoing activities within the NEUROSENSE Project.

Voluntary participation in this research will provide valuable insights from potential end-users on the proposed designs of the SUDEP Predictive Medical Device (SMD) being developed in this project. Along with data from the first workshop, this study will update the list of user requirements to guide the creation of a device aimed at predicting and preventing SUDEP. This approach ensures that future medical devices are designed to meet the real needs of people with epilepsy, their caregivers, and families.
There are no associated risks, and the benefits are crucial for developing the first SUDEP predictive and preventive medical device prototype, tailored to the everyday lives of PWE, families, and caregivers. The Focus Group results will help the NEUROSENSE Consortium design an SMD prototype aligned with user needs, while also providing resources for future innovations in epilepsy treatment. The results from this workshop will be made public through an Open Source peer-reviewed publication.
